Brazil Nut Tarts

- butter Pastry ,enough for a 1 Crust pie. shopping list
- For Filling: shopping list
- 1 Tablespoon cornstarch shopping list
- 1/2 Cup water,Cold shopping list
- 1/2 Cup dark brown sugar,packed firmly shopping list
- 3 Tablespoons butter shopping list
- 1/2 teaspoon Pure vanilla shopping list
- 3/4 Cup brazil nuts,chopped coarsely shopping list
How to make it
- Roll out the pastry until very thin,cut into circles large enough to fit into 12~(2Tablespoon Capacity) tartlet pans.
- Line the pans with pastry,prick the pastry with a fork.
- Place the pastry lined tartlet pan onto a baking sheet.
- Bake in a 400 degree oven until golden brown,about 12 minutes.
- Cool completely,in the pans.
- Meanwhile:
- In saucepan ,stir the cornstarch,into the water until there is no lumps.
- Add the brown sugar,and bring to a rolling boil,stir all the while.
- Lower the heat and simmer mixture for about 5 minutes,stirring.
- Remove from the burner,and stir in the butter and vanilla until well blended,stir in the Brazil Nuts.
- Cool this mixture a bit,then fill the tartllets and chill until set.
- Being very careful,remove the tartlets from the pans before serving.
