How to make it

  • Preheat oven to 300 degrees F.(150 degrees C).
  • Grease one 9x5" loaf pan.
  • Sift the flour, sugar, baking powder and salt together,
  • Mix in the nuts, dates and cherries.
  • Beat the eggs until foamy, add vanilla and the flour mixture.
  • Stir until just combined and pour into prepared pan.
  • Bake for 1 hour and 45 minutes.
  • Remove from oven.
  • Store in refrigerator, wrapped in foil.

    This sounds perfect! I have been looking for a recipe similiar to this for years. I hate the traditional fruitcake but had something similiar to this with nothing but nuts in it. It was so delicious, I never got the recipe so thanks a million.

    Now this one doesn't have all the dried fruit in it...do you suppose this could be the one to convert me?!?!? Keep trying, LA - I love looking at all the variations!
