I made this dish last night for dinner guest. I doubled the sauce and pasta. I used equal parts heavy cream & half N half. Even with doubling the sauce, I still only used 1 tsp of cayenne and it was PLENTY spicy. I used baby bella mushrooms. This dish is INCREDIBLE!!! I thought my guests were going to lick their plates clean. This is a MUST TRY recipe for sure!!!

We eat SPICY on almost a daily basis, but this was almost too hot for us. I only used 1-1/4 tsp of cayenne because I thought 2 tsp sounded like a lot--and I was right. Our teenage kids couldn't even eat it, though they loved the flavor. I loved the recipe, don't get me wrong. The flavors were fabulous; hubby even commented that he would eat it w/o the pasta and use it as a "fondue" with a good crusty loaf of bread; it was that good. Just be careful if you're not used to spicy because as written this one IS! I did add a couple of things to it--about 1/4 cup chopped leftover garlic sausage, about 1/4 cup chopped shrimp and some GARLIC.

Holly fire tongue!! This dish has a yummy flavor but I couldnt eat too much of it because it was way too spicy for my husband and I. I only used 1 tsp of cayenne too!! Will definitely be making again soon just with none or just a pinch of cayenne! Oh and definitely shrimp would be good in it or sausage.

Does the ingredient list of 1 7-8 ounce precooked chicken mean I can add 8 ounces of any cooked chicken? Could I add 8 ounces of shrimp?

Nice copycat of my favorite dish at Corinos. This stuff is spicy, flavorful, and tastes incredible -- and it's so simple! To more closely match the amount of sauce in the restaurant version, I normally cut the sauce recipe in half, or double the other ingredients. All I can say is WOW!

If you want, you can adjust the spiciness also by decreasing the pepper flakes. Put the pepper flakes on the table and let everyone decide for themselves.

This does sound great....and you're right, "artichoke hearts" did keep me from really looking at it! There are very few foods my family doesn't like, and that is one of them. I'm bookmarking this. We love chicken and this does sound wonderful! Thanks for the suggestion!
