Braised short ribs with Cauliflower mash

- 8 beef short ribs shopping list
- 1 carrot shopping list
- 1 onion shopping list
- 1C. port wine shopping list
- 1 C. beef stock shopping list
- 1 head cauliflower shopping list
- milk shopping list
- salt shopping list
- pepper shopping list
- 1/2 t. thyme shopping list
- 1/2 stick butter shopping list
- olive oil shopping list
How to make it
- season ribs with salt and peeper
- sear short ribs on all sides till nicely browned
- remove to roasting pan
- deglaze pan with port
- add onion chunks and carrot chunks to roasting pan
- add thyme to port wine then pour over short ribs
- add beef stock place in a 350 degree oven for 2 1/2 - 3 hrs.
- for cauliflower
- cut cauliflower into florettes place in a sauce pan
- cover with milk bring to boil and cook until very tender
- drain milk
- add butter salt and pepper to taste and mash
- when short ribs are done remove to plate put roasting pan on stove top and reduce sauce by half then strain
- to serve
- place cauliflower mash in center of a plate lean 2 short ribs against it
- laddle sauce around outside of plate sprinkle with some fresh chives
- enjoy

I've never cooked cauliflower in milk before - sounds delicious, as do the ribs in port. This is definitely a "warm me up" meal, and one I look forward to trying. I know we're gonna like this one because it has all the "comfort" ingredients we crav...more
