Ingredients
  • 2 cups sugar
  • 1/4 cup water
  • 8 eggs
  • 1/2 cup sugar
  • 3 cups whole milk
  • 1 cup Kahlua

Directions
  1. Heat 2 cups of sugar and water in a small saucepan over medium high heat for 25 minutes or until sugar is golden brown. Pour caramelized sugar into a shallow greased glass baking dish, such as a pie plate or ceramic quiche dish.
  2. Beat together eggs, sugar, milk and Kahlua until well blended. Slowly pour on to caramelized sugar in dish.
  3. Preheat oven to 250 degrees. Place flan in a larger baking pan and fill half way up the sides with boiling water. Bake flan for 45 to 60 minutes or until custard is set.
  4. Chill completely. To serve spoon custard into individual bowls and drizzle with caramel. Garnish with fresh berries and a sprig of mint.
