Loris Beef Stew

- 2 lbs. stew meat trimmed of fat shopping list
- 5 c. water shopping list
- 3/4 c. flour shopping list
- 1/4 c. ketchup shopping list
- 1/4 c. chili sauce (I can only find Heinz brand) shopping list
- 3 medium potatoes cubed shopping list
- 4 stalks celery sliced shopping list
- 2 medium onions chopped in large chunks shopping list
- 2 carrots sliced shopping list
- 3 tbsp dried minced onion shopping list
- 2 bay leaves shopping list
- 1 tsp Kitchen Bouquet shopping list
- 1/2 tsp each: oregano, basil, and thyme shopping list
- 1/4 tsp cayenne pepper shopping list
- Couple dashes of Tobasco (depending on your preference for heat) shopping list
- salt and pepper to taste shopping list
How to make it
- Mix flour, a little salt and pepper in a freezer or storage bag.
- Add meat and shake to coat.
- Brown meat in a large pot (Dutch oven).
- Add water and remaining spices, the ketchup, chili sauce, tobasco and minced onion.
- Simmer 1-2 hours until meat is tender.
- Add veggies and cook another 30 minutes until tender.
