Ingredients
  • 2 cups flour
  • 1 cup sugar
  • 2 1/2 teaspoons baking powder
  • 3 tablespoons melted butter
  • 2/3 cup milk
  • 1 egg
  • 2 cups fresh cranberries
  • Butter Sauce: 1/2 cup melted butter, 1 cup sugar, 3/4 cup light cream or half-and-half.

Directions
  1. Sift dry ingredients together into a bowl. Add the melted butter, milk and egg.
  2. Beat for 2 minutes.
  3. Stir in the cranberries.
  4. Pour into a buttered 8-inch square baking dish.
  5. Bake for 40 minutes in 350F degree oven.
  6. To make the butter sauce, mix the melted butter, sugar and cream together in a small sauce pan. Cook for 5 minutes over medium-low heat, stirring constantly.
  7. When the "pudding" has finished baking, cut into even slices and pour a generous portion of the warm butter sauce over each piece.
