Ingredients

How to make it

  • Cook pasta according to package directions.
  • Meanwhile, cook bacon in a large skillet over medium-high heat; just until fat is rendered (about 3 minutes).
  • Add onion and saute until limp, about 7 minutes; drain fat.
  • Stir in pepper flakes, add tomatoes to the bacon mixture (break tomatoes up with spoon).
  • Bring to a boil, reduce heat and simmer, stirring occasionally, until sauce thickens, about 10 minutes.
  • Portion pasta into warm bowls and spoon tomato sauce on top.
  • Sprinkle with cheese.

I do have a question . . .You meant to say 1(280oz)can Italian tomatoes with liquid - not 12, right? . . .and another comment, . . when I make it, I will try 2(14-oz) cans of pettite diced tomatoes with Italian seasonings instead of the whole ones. Wish me luck. - Susana
