Ingredients

1 pkg. (16 oz.) spaghetti

4 thick slices bacon, chopped

1 large onion, chopped

1/2 tsp. dried chili peppers, crushed

12 (28 oz.) can Italian tomatoes with juice

Parmesan cheese, grated

Directions

Cook pasta according to package directions.

Meanwhile, cook bacon in a large skillet over medium-high heat; just until fat is rendered (about 3 minutes).

Add onion and saute until limp, about 7 minutes; drain fat.

Stir in pepper flakes, add tomatoes to the bacon mixture (break tomatoes up with spoon).

Bring to a boil, reduce heat and simmer, stirring occasionally, until sauce thickens, about 10 minutes.

Portion pasta into warm bowls and spoon tomato sauce on top.

Sprinkle with cheese.
