Cauliflower Sausage Soup Recipe
CAULIFLOWER SAUSAGE SOUP This recipe came from an estate sale. I obtained it when I purchased the family collection from the Fischer Estate in Crandall, Texas in 1987.

Ingredients
  • 4 cups cauliflower
  • 1 cup thinly sliced carrots
  • 2 cups water
  • 1 pound pork sausage
  • 1/2 cup chopped onion
  • 1/3 cup flour
  • 3/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1/8 teaspoon black pepper
  • 2 cups milk
  • 8 ounces processed American cheese cubed

Directions
  1. Cook cauliflower and carrots in saucepan with water until tender then set aside but do not drain.
  2. In skillet over medium heat brown sausage and onion then drain grease.
  3. Add flour, salt and pepper then gradually add milk and bring to a boil.
  4. Cook and stir for two minutes.
  5. Over medium heat add ingredients from skillet into the saucepan.
  6. Heat through and add cheese cubes then stir until cheese is melted.

Sounds wonderful, sausage, cauliflower and cheese, you can't go wrong, I do think I'll use cheddar cheese though, my family is not big on american cheese, thanks so much for sharing... CV


This does sound great, I'll have to try it, I love cauliflower!


Never thought to add meat to my cauliflower soup, but what a good idea...sounds like a tasty, hearty soup to fight off this insistent cold weather up here in the north!


Made this today. Really delicious. Used cheddar rather than American. Great with crusty bread or a salad and you have a meal.
