- 6 slices thin-sliced bacon, cut in 1/4" strips crosswise. shopping list
- 1/2 to 3/4 cup sliced (or chopped) onion (I use Vidalia-type) shopping list
- 1/4 head of cabbage, sliced shopping list
- 2 oz. (or more) butter shopping list
- garlic salt, to taste (I like to add a LOT) shopping list
- 2 cups egg noodles, cooked per pkg.inst. shopping list
- Grated Parmesan (or Romano) cheese to top shopping list
How to make it
- Cook the noodles per pkg. instructions, about 10 minutes.
- MEANWHILE, in a LARGE frypan (at least 12") :
- Fry the bacon until mostly crisp, adding the onion when the bacon partly cooked.
- [Optional-Deb] When browning the onions, sprinkle a tsp of sugar over them.
- Drain off most of the fat and return to heat.
- Add the cabbage and continue to toss & saute.
- Add garlic salt to taste.
- Add the butter.
- Add the cooked and drained noodles; continue to saute & toss or stir.
- Top with grated Parmesan cheese to serve.
