How to make it

  • Mix everything together in a big bowl. Generously rub ribs with seasoning. Store the rest of the rub in an airtight container for later uses.
  • Slab your ribs with your favorite BBQ sauce and throw them on the grill!!!
  • (or in the oven). Enjoy!
  • **This recipe makes approximately 1 1/2 cups rub so you WILL have a good amount left over.

As the name suggests, this is an “AWESOME” rub! Grilling is such a fickle sport and to each is own. I for one am super picky, but this lived up to my every expectation. It has a nice semi-sweet, yet savory flavor without an overpowering chili taste. It paired perfectly with my sweet apple BBQ bourbon sauce. The recipe makes a lot, but no worries, you’ll quickly use it. Thank You!, Mommyluvs2cook, for sharing such a super fantastic recipe!

Very nice! The only change I made was to use finely minced fresh sage. I used this rib rub on country style pork ribs prior to grilling. Half of the ribs had no further seasoning. The other half had a barbecue sauce basted on it while grilling. Though I liked the rub-only very much, my personal preference is to add a bbq sauce (as recipe says to do), to create the sweet & sticky that I love about ribs. This rub does provide a very tasty background for your favorite bbq sauce. Thanks ml2cook! (Glad you like my photo!)

Love the sound of this. I'll certainly mix this up. Sounds like it would work to season a lot more than just ribs. Thanks & 5 forks
