Ingredients
  • 8 lean large pork chops
  • Marinade:
  • 2 Tablespoons extra-virgin olive oil
  • 1 pack of onion soup mix
  • 2 14-½ oz cans of S &W’s Basil & Oregano & Garlic Diced Tomatoes, un-drained
  • 1 tablespoon balsamic vinegar

Directions
  1. Mix all marinade ingredients in a very large bowl and stir until the soup mix is blended. Then pour over the chops which have been layered on top of each other in the slow cooker.
  2. Set to 300 degrees or low for 6-8 hours or until the chops are done.
  3. Serve up with mashed potatoes of your choice or rice or risotto and applesauce.

  5. For a more rustic dish add 1 15-oz. can of Great Northern white beans that have been rinsed and drained to the marinade. Then add to the chops.

I'm glad you liked my Pork Chop Italiano recipe. I think it is unique in the sense that you usually see grilled or baked recipes and the marinade or sauce on them isn't really typical.
I didn't add any extra garlic to the dish. The only garlic in it is the small amount that were in the tomatoes.
