Ingredients
- 1 pkg German chocolate cake mix shopping list
- 1 cup chopped pecans shopping list
- 1/3 cup plus 1/2 cup evaporated milk, divided shopping list
- 3/4 cup butter, melted shopping list
- 60 vanilla caramels, unwrapped (14 oz pkg.) shopping list
- 1 cup semi-sweet chocolate morsels shopping list
How to make it
- In a large mixing bowl, combine dry cake mix, pecans, 1/3 cup evaporated milk and melted butter
- Press half of the batter into the bottom of a greased 13z9x2 inchglass baking dish
- Bake in a preheated 350 degree oven for 8 minutes
- Melt the caramels with remaining 1/2 cup evaporated milk in the microwave or a double boiler
- When caramel mixture is well mixed, pour over baked layer
- Cover with chocolate morsels
- Spread remaining batter on top of morsels
- Return to 350 degree oven and bake 18 minutes
- Let cool before cutting into squares
- Makes 16-20
