How to make it

  • Combine all cake ingredients, in the order listed, and mix until blended.
  • Pour into a greased 13 x 9” pan.
  • Bake at 350 for approximately 1 hour, or until the cake starts to pull away from sides of pan and a toothpick inserted near the center comes out clean.
  • Cool on rack.
  • Combine all frosting ingredients and frost cake.
  • Chill, covered at least two hours. Overnight is better. This cake gets better as it ages a bit.
