Ingredients

How to make it

  • Crumble beef and pork in large mixing bowl and set aside.
  • In small mixing bowl, combine next 11 ingredients and mix well with a fork so the eggs and milk are thoroughly combined with the spices.
  • Add egg mixture to the meat and mix (I use my hands)
  • Add the breadcrumbs and carrots and combine all ingredients thorougly.
  • Once combined, shape it into a loaf and place in a 9 x 13 inch shallow baking pan. Do not let the meat touch the sides of the pan (this will allow the meatloaf to brown on all sides and let the fat drain)
  • Bake at 350 degrees for 60 minutes or until cooked through (165 degrees)
  • While meatloaf is cooking, combine ingredients for sauce. During last 15 minutes of cooking, top the meatloaf with the sauce.
  • Let rest for 10 minutes before slicing.

I only like meat loaf if it's got some flavor to it and it's juicy. This one looks really good, but I will probably use Panko instead of breadcrumbs. Thanks and a High 5...

I've never met a meatloaf I didn't like! It's my favorite meal, simple as it may be. I usually just throw what I think sounds good that night into a bowl to make it, although I've tried many recipes, too. This one looks fabulous. I like the sausage, spices, and carrots in this, and the sauce looks really delicious. I will print this one to try, hopefully sometime soon. Thanks for sharing! - Natalie
