Vinegar Taffy

- 2 cups white sugar shopping list
- 1/2 cup vinegar shopping list
- 2 tablespoons butter shopping list
- 1/8 teaspoon cream of tartar shopping list
- 1 pinch salt shopping list
How to make it
- In a large saucepan over medium heat combine all ingredients.
- Heat without stirring to 250 to 265 degrees F (121 to 129 degrees C) OR until a a small amount dropped in cold water forms a rigid ball.
- Remove from heat and allow to cool enough to be handled.
- Pull taffy by stretching with hands, folding the candy over and repeating until taffy is white and porous.
- Cut into 1" pieces with kitchen shears.
