Susan White at allrecipes posted this traditional pulled taffy just for me, I know. I am a terrific taffy freak and although I've never made it in the past I'll be making it soon! Sounds like fun..

Ingredients
  • 2 cups white sugar
  • 1/2 cup vinegar
  • 2 tablespoons butter
  • 1/8 teaspoon cream of tartar
  • 1 pinch salt

Directions
  1. In a large saucepan over medium heat combine all ingredients.
  2. Heat without stirring to 250 to 265 degrees F (121 to 129 degrees C) OR until a a small amount dropped in cold water forms a rigid ball.
  3. Remove from heat and allow to cool enough to be handled.
  4. Pull taffy by stretching with hands, folding the candy over and repeating until taffy is white and porous.
  5. Cut into 1" pieces with kitchen shears.
