Diablo means "devil's style ", so anyone looking at this recipe knows it should be "hot""spicey" etc. But as they say "taste" is in the tongue of the beholder.
When I make this, my friends actually don't think it too spicey or hot for them at all! As a matter of fact, this recipe is actually less hot /spicey than other recipes and relies on the mixture of savory herbs with the addition of cayenne pepper and some crushed red pepper flakes " to taste"
Sorry this was disappointing to you

Way to hot (spicy). Deleted the crushed red pepper, but neglected to follow my instincts and also delete the cayenne pepper. My ingredients included: 8 lg fresh sea scallops ($10.49); 6 oz of crab claw meat ($6.49); 7 oz of frozen 21-36 cocktail shrimp (~$5); fresh basil and parsley (from my garden) and thin spaghetti in lieu of the linguine. Braised the fresh scallops in butter before adding into the sauce mix (used Cabernet Sauvinon wine). Obviously did not skimp on the ingredients, but to OUR tastes, it was still disappointingly too hot and spicy. Will try some other inspiring recipe for these choice ingredients in the future.
