Lavender Biscuits

- 2 c flour shopping list
- 3 Tbsp sugar shopping list
- 1 Tbsp baking powder shopping list
- 2 tsp lavender flowers shopping list
- 1 tsp salt shopping list
- 1/4 lb cold unslated butter, cut into 1/4" cubes shopping list
- 1 c heavy cream (+ extra to glaze) shopping list
- creme fraiche shopping list
- berries (in sugar, w juice) shopping list
How to make it
- Preheat oven to 350 and butter a baking sheet
- Sift together the flour, 2 Tbsp sugar, baking powder, and salt into a large bowl.
- Mix in the lavender flowers (or sift them in with the other ingredients, if you prefer).
- Cut in the butter until the dough is a coarse meal.
- Add 1 c of cream and mix. The dough will be tacky.
- Flour a work surface, and spread out the dough to about 3/4" thick.
- Cut into rounds (3" should make 12 biscuits).
- Brush the tops with cream and sprinkle with the remaining sugar.
- Bake until the biscuits just brown, about 20 minutes.
- Cool on a rack for 5 minutes.
- Serve with Creme Fraiche and berries, spooned over the halved biscuits.
