Vanilla Ring Cake

Nice moist vanilla ring cake. Great topped with sauce or berries and cream or plain.
Ingredients
- 1 c. shortening shopping list
- 2 c sugar shopping list
- 4 eggs shopping list
- 2 Tbs vanilla extract shopping list
- 3 c all purpose flour shopping list
- 1 tsp baking powder shopping list
- 1/2 tsp baking soda shopping list
- 1 c buttermilk shopping list
- Drizzle: shopping list
- 1 c confectioners sugar shopping list
- 1 to 2 Tbs milk shopping list
- 1/2 tsp vanilla extract shopping list
How to make it
- In large bowl,cream shortening and sugar until light and fluffy,about 5 mins. Add eggs,one at a time,beating well after each addition. Beat in vanilla. Combine flour,baking powder and baking soda;add to creamed mixture alternately with buttermilk,beating well after each addition.
- Pour into greased and floured 10" tube pan. Bake at 350 for 55-65 mins or till toothpick comes out clean. Cool 10 mins before removing from pan to wire rack to cool completely.
- Combine drizzle ingredients and drizzle over cake.
