Yogurt Walnut Cake Recipe
YOGURT WALNUT CAKE This is a recipe I obtained from an Estate sale. I obtained it when I purchased the family collection from the Tinsley Estate in Venus, Texas in 1987.

Ingredients
  • 2 cups walnut halves
  • 2 eggs
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 cup plain yogurt
  • 1 cup sifted all purpose flour
  • 1/2 teaspoon baking powder

Directions
  1. Preheat oven to 375 then grease and flour a spring form pan.
  2. Set aside 6 unbroken walnut halves and finely chop the remaining walnuts in food processor.
  3. In mixing bowl blend eggs with the sugar then beat well for 2 minutes.
  4. Add yogurt, flour and baking powder then beat 1 minute and add pecans and beat 1 minute.
  5. Pour batter into prepared cake pan then bake 35 minutes and allow to cool 10 minutes.
  6. Garnish with reserved walnut halves.
