Hamersleys Fenway Sausage With Onions Peppers And Garlic Recipe

Ingredients

4 Tbs olive oil

4 spicy Italian sausage

1 med. onion,thinly sliced

salt and pepper

2 red bell peppers,stemmed,seeded and cut in thin strips

2 yellow peppers,stemmed,seeded and cut in thin strips

4 garlic cloves,finely chopped

1/4c white wine

2 Tbs tomato paste

1/4 tsp fresh chopped thyme leaves

4 hot dog buns

dijon mustard

grainy mustard

Ball Park mustard

Ketchup

Directions

Heat 2 Tbs of olive oil in saute pan until moderately hot. Add sausages and cook slowly on top of stove,turning frequently until they are cooked through,about 8-10 mins. Remove from pan,reserve and keep warm. Add onion to pan and raise heat to med high. Add salt and pepper and cook,stirring every few minutes until onion is tender,about 5-7 mins. Add peppers and garlic. Stir to combine and continue cooking until peppers are tender but not falling apart,about 12 mins. add the white wine,tomato paste and thyme. Stir to combine and bring to simmer. Cook for 3 mins. Return sausages to pan and reheat about 3 mins. Split open four traditional Italian-style hot dog buns and fill them with sausages,peppers and onions. Serve with the mustards and ketchup.
