Fudgy Chocolate Brownies

These dense buttery and chocolatey brownies were a featured recipe on joyofbaking. They sound decadent and they freeze well to boot! Makes 32 brownies.
Ingredients
- 1 1/2 pounds/680 grams semisweet OR bittersweet chocolate, chopped shopping list
- 1 cup/2sticks/226 grams unsalted butter, cut up shopping list
- 6 large eggs shopping list
- 2 cups/400grams white sugar shopping list
- 1 tablespoon vanilla extract shopping list
- 1 1/2 cups/195 grams all purpose flour shopping list
- 1 teaspoon baking powder shopping list
- 1/4 teaspoon salt shopping list
How to make it
- Preheat oven to 350 degrees F/177 degrees C with rack in center of oven.
- Butter/coat with cooking spray a 9x13" pan.
- Line pan with parchment paper.
- Melt chocolate in large heat-proof bowl placed over pot of simmering water.
- Remove from heat and set aside.
- In large bowl whisk together eggs and sugar.
- Fold in the melted chocolate and vanilla.
- Whisk together the flour, baking powder and salt.
- Fold into the chocolate mixture until well combined.
- Pour into prepared pan.
- Bake 40 to 50 minutes OR until toothpick inserted comes out with a few moist crumbs.
- Remove from oven and let cool on wire rack.
- Serve at room temperature OR chilled.
- Store leftovers in the refrigerator.
