Favorite Homemade Pancakes Recipe

Ingredients

1 egg

1 1/4 cups buttermilk

1/2 tsp. baking soda

1 1/4 cups flour

1 tsp. sugar

2 Tbsp. soft shortening

1 tsp. baking powder

1/2 tsp. salt

Directions

Heat a griddle slowly while mixing the batter. Beat the egg well and then beat in the buttermilk and 1/2 tsp. baking soda. Beat in flour and remaining ingredients with a mixer until smooth. Cook until golden brown. Makes about 16 pancakes.
