  • 1 1/2 cups boiling water
  • 1 cup quick-cooking Oats
  • 1/2 cup shortening{No substitutes}
  • 1 cup firmly packed brown suar
  • 2 eggs
  • 1 1/2 cups ll purpose flour
  • 1 tsp. baking soda
  • 1 tsp. cinnamon
  • 1/2 ts[. slt
  • 1/2 cup raisins
  • 1/4 cup plus 2 tablespoons butter melted
  • 1/2 cup firmly packed brown sugar
  • 1/2 tsp. vanilla
  • 1 cup flaked coconut
  • 1/2 cup chopped pecans

Directions
  1. combine boiled oats and water stir well let cool
  2. cream shortening add sugar and beat well
  3. Add eggs one at a time beating well after each addition
  4. combined next 4 ingredients add creamed mixture
  5. beat well
  6. Stir in oats miture and raisins
  7. Pour into well greased and floured 13x9x2 pan
  8. combined remaining ingredients spoon over batter
  9. Bake 350-4o minutes {yeild 15-18 servings}
