How to make it

  • Combine all ingredients except mashed potatoes, asparagus, bacon & Swiss cheese
  • Mix well & place into ungreased casserole dish
  • Cover with mashed potatoes
  • Wind a slice of bacon around each asparagus spear
  • Place asparagus spears on top of the mashed potatoes
  • Cover spears with slices of Swiss cheese
  • Bake @ 350* F for approximately 90 minutes, or until the juices from the beef run clear, and the top is golden brown

    Wow this really sounds delicious! I make a couple of different Shepherds/Cottage Pies but I never thought of adding asparagus…this is a must try recipe.
