Elaines Shepherds Pie With A Plus

- 1 lb lean ground beef shopping list
- 1/2 sweet bell pepper, finely chopped shopping list
- 1/2 medium-sized spanish onion, finely chopped shopping list
- 1/2 tsp salt shopping list
- pepper to taste shopping list
- 1/2 cup oat bran cereal shopping list
- 3 whole eggs, beaten shopping list
- 1 cup cooked peas and carrots, mixed shopping list
- 9 spears asparagus shopping list
- 9 pieces bacon shopping list
- 2 cups mashed potatoes shopping list
- 5 slices swiss cheese shopping list
How to make it
- Combine all ingredients except mashed potatoes, asparagus, bacon & Swiss cheese
- Mix well & place into ungreased casserole dish
- Cover with mashed potatoes
- Wind a slice of bacon around each asparagus spear
- Place asparagus spears on top of the mashed potatoes
- Cover spears with slices of Swiss cheese
- Bake @ 350* F for approximately 90 minutes, or until the juices from the beef run clear, and the top is golden brown
