Coconut Pie

- 9" pie shell, unbaked shopping list
- 1/4 cup finely chopped nuts (slivered almonds are best) shopping list
- 3 large eggs shopping list
- 1/2 cup water, milk or coconut milk shopping list
- 1 1/2 cups sugar shopping list
- 1/4 cup flour shopping list
- 1 1/3 cups flaked coconut shopping list
- 1/2 cup melted butter shopping list
- 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract shopping list
- whipped cream for garnish shopping list
How to make it
- Sprinkle nuts over bottom of unbaked pie shell. Combine eggs, liquid used, sugar and flour. Beat until smooth. Stir in the remaining ingredients and pour into the pie shell. Bake in a 450 degree F oven for 10 minutes. Reduce heat to 350 degrees F,
- and bake for another 25-35 minutes, or until pie is almost set. Cool on rack.
- Garnish with a dollop of whipped cream!
