Golden Gate Park Brownies

An old favorite from the 1960's. I think it may have had one additional ingredient, but for the life of me I can't remember what it was anymore. Anyway, they taste great just as they are... Serves 8 normally , but for some reason, the more you ate the more you wanted.
Ingredients
- 1 cup butter shopping list
- 4 ounces unsweetened chocolate shopping list
- 2 cups granulated sugar shopping list
- 4 large eggs shopping list
- 1 cup flour, all purpose shopping list
- 1 teaspoon baking powder shopping list
- 6 ounces chocolate chips shopping list
- 1 cup chopped walnuts, optional shopping list
How to make it
- Preheat oven to 350*F.
- Melt together the butter and chocolate; set aside
- Beat together the sugar and eggs until ribbons form
- Stir the chocolate mixture into the egg mixture
- Mix together the flour and baking powder and add to the chocolate mixture
- Spread mixture in a greased 9x13-inch pan
- Sprinkle with the chips and nuts
- Bake at 350*F. for 30 minutes.
