How to make it

  • Preheat oven to 350
  • In saucepan, bring sugar, butter and corn syrup to boil
  • Constantly stirring, boil 1 minute
  • Remove from heat and stir in rest of ingredients until smooth
  • Cool dough to room temp.
  • Roll a level tsp. of dough into ball, then into a log
  • Put 3 logs onto parchment lined baking sheet, 3 inches apart
  • Stretch each log to 8 inches long
  • Bake 7-9 minutes, until flat and golden
  • On another baking sheet, place 4 wooden spoons or 4 dowels onto sheet
  • Place parchment with cookies onto cooling rack
  • Using a long spatula, working quickly, place cookies over spoon handles to create wave effect
  • Repeat until dough is gone
  • ~~~If cookies harden before waving, put onto hot baking sheet to soften~~~

    I like the flavor profile but I've never succeeded at tuiles (what is the plural of that?)
    I'm sure I'd mess it up. Those lacy cookies that Paula makes are just as impossible for me to make.

    These sound really good, but I'm confused @:o} How do you stretch a tsp of dough into a log, let alone make it 8" long? Help me please!!!!! Am I just misunderstanding or stupid? Don't answer that! LOL
