Ingredients

How to make it

  • In a large pot combine potatoes, onion and dill. Cover with broth and bring to a boil. Reduce heat, cover and simmer for 20 minutes, or until potatoes are tender. Add smoked salmon, half-and-half and wine and cook until thoroughly heated; do not boil.
  • Mash some of the potatoes with a wooden spoon to thicken soup. Season to taste with salt and pepper and serve. Garnish with chopped, fresh dill, if desired.

I'm with you Juels; I never thought of smoked salmon in a chowder. But this looks and sound great. The photo made my mouth water.

PS - I didn't check this through properly - is 'half-and-half' milk or cream? Not to worry if it is though, I can substitute dairy-free soya milk/cream.
    Thanks, Susan

This looks beautiful. I thought it might have cream in it - I can't digest dairy food - but it's ok for me to eat so I will save this for trying later. Thanks for posting,
    Love Susan
