A light refreshing bread that goes well with a heavy meal. It's also great as a breakfast toast with berries or a dessert topped with lemon or lime sherbert or your favorite ice cream. From Imperial Sugar.

Ingredients
- 1/2 cup butter
- 1-1/2 cups flour
- 1/2 tsp. salt
- 1/2 cup milk
- 1 cup Imperial Sugar Extra Fine Granulated Sugar or Dixie Crystals Extra Fine Granulated Sugar
- 1 tsp. baking powder
- 2 eggs
- Grated rind of 2 lemons
- Cream butter, sugar and eggs. Add milk and stir in dry ingredients and rind. Bake in loaf pan at 350ºF for forty-five minutes.
Directions
- For Lemon Glaze For Lemon Bread:
- 1 tsp. lemon juice
- 1/2 cup Imperial Sugar Powdered Sugar or Dixie Crystals Powdered Sugar
- Mix the lemon juice and sugar and glaze the bread
