A light refreshing bread that goes well with a heavy meal. It's also great as a breakfast toast with berries or a dessert topped with lemon or lime sherbert or your favorite ice cream. From Imperial Sugar.

Ingredients
  • 1/2 cup butter
  • 1-1/2 cups flour
  • 1/2 tsp. salt
  • 1/2 cup milk
  • 1 cup Imperial Sugar Extra Fine Granulated Sugar or Dixie Crystals Extra Fine Granulated Sugar
  • 1 tsp. baking powder
  • 2 eggs
  • Grated rind of 2 lemons
  • Cream butter, sugar and eggs. Add milk and stir in dry ingredients and rind. Bake in loaf pan at 350ºF for forty-five minutes.

Directions
  1. For Lemon Glaze For Lemon Bread:
  2. 1 tsp. lemon juice
  3. 1/2 cup Imperial Sugar Powdered Sugar or Dixie Crystals Powdered Sugar
  4. Mix the lemon juice and sugar and glaze the bread
