Hot And Sticky Chicken Wings Recipe

Hot And Sticky Chicken Wings Recipe
I saw Sandra Lee make this on her show, "Semi-Homemade" and wondered if there wasn't too much sweet, but it looked very interesting for a busy mother or career woman feeding her family.

Ingredients
  • 3 pounds chicken wings
  • 1/4 cup ketchup
  • 1 (18-ounce) jar apricot-pineapple preserves (recommended: Smuckers)
  • 2 tablespoons citrus herb seasoning
  • 2 tablespoon dried oregano
  • 1 tablespoon chili seasoning
  • 1 jalapeno, finely diced

Directions
  1. Light broiler. Line a baking sheet with aluminum foil; set aside. Rinse wings with cold water and pat dry with paper towels.
  2. Place wings on baking sheet skin-side up.
  3. Broil wings for 8 to 10 minutes while preparing sauce.
  4. NOTE: this step can be omitted, but produces a better tasting wing.
  5. Place wings in the crock of 4 quart slow cooker.
  6. In a bowl, stir to combine remaining ingredients.
  7. Pour over wings and stir to coat.
  8. Place lid on slow cooker and cook on high setting for 2 1/2 to 3 1/2 hours.

Its a three out of five star rating from the other viewers; and its what I thought that might be the problem. She had changed the recipe using that citrus seasoning when the Taco Bell seasoning packet works better according to another viewer. You know we are experiment foodies - so do your thing!
