How to make it

  • Directions:
  • Preheat the oven to 350deg F
  • Grease an ovenproof dish with butter. Line the sides with the flavored toasted bread squares.
  • Cook the asparagus in salted, boiling water for 10 minutes.
  • Drain and place in the prepared dish and top with the ham and fontina.
  • Beat the eggs with the Parmesan cheese, season with salt and pepper and pour over the asparagus.
  • Bake for 15-20 minutes until the Parmesan has melted and the eggs have set.
  • Let's Eat!

    what a great idea! my family always served asparagus w/ hollandaise, which I don't care for much, so I usually just eat mine w/ salt & butter. This sounds quite worth a bit of extra effort.
