Cantonese Beef Steak Recipe

Ingredients
  • 3/4 lb. flank steak
  • 2 T oil
  • 1/4 med. sized onion
  • Beef marinade:
  • 4 t. wine or vinegar
  • 1 T. oil
  • 4 t. soy sauce
  • 1 1/2 t. cornstarch
  • pinch of pepper
  • Steak sauce
  • 1 1/2 T ketchup
  • 2 1/4 t. Worcestershire sauce
  • 1/2 T steak sauce
  • 1 t. sugar
  • 3/4 t. soy sauce
  • 2 1/4 t. soup stock

Directions
  1. Cut flank steak into 2" X 2" X 1/4" slices.
  2. Pound both sides of steaks with a mallet.
  3. Marinate for 2-4 hours.
  4. Heat oil in a hot skillet over high heat.
  5. Brown beef for 1 min. on each side.
  6. Remove from pan, reserving oil in skillet.
  7. Combine ingredients for steak sauce in a small bowl.
  8. Add onion to skillet and saute over high heat until light brown.
  9. Add steak sauce, stirring to blend well.
  10. Return browned beef to skillet and coat with sauce.
  11. Arrange on plate and serve immediately.
