Blueberry Starlight Cake Recipe

Ingredients

2 cups flour

1 1/2 c up sugar

3 1/2 teaspoons baking powder

1 teaspoon salt

1/2 cup shortening

1 cup milk

1 teaspoon vanilla flavoring

1 teaspoon almond flavoring

3 eggs

1 to 2 cups blueberries

3 teaspoons sugar

Directions

Preheat oven to 350 degrees.

Beat all ingredients together, *except blueberries and 3 teaspoons sugar*, on low speed until moistened.

Beat on high for 2 minutes.

Grease 9 x 13 pan. Spread blueberries along the bottom the pan. Sprinkle with 1 to 3 teaspoons of sugar. Pour the cake mix on top of the blueberries.

Bake in 9 x 13 pan for 45 minutes. Toothpick test will work fine to see if it's finished. We do not put a frosting on this cake.

(If you do not want a blueberry cake and just want a yummy yellow cake, omit the blueberries and 3 tsp sugar. Bake for 40 - 45 minutes.)
