Blueberry Starlight Cake

We love to serve this cake for breakfast! Nice hot blueberry cake from the oven.
Ingredients
- 2 cups flour shopping list
- 1 1/2 c up sugar shopping list
- 3 1/2 teaspoons baking powder shopping list
- 1 teaspoon salt shopping list
- 1/2 cup shortening shopping list
- 1 cup milk shopping list
- 1 teaspoon vanilla flavoring shopping list
- 1 teaspoon almond flavoring shopping list
- 3 eggs shopping list
- 1 to 2 cups blueberries shopping list
- 3 teaspoons sugar shopping list
How to make it
- Preheat oven to 350 degrees.
- Beat all ingredients together, *except blueberries and 3 teaspoons sugar*, on low speed until moistened.
- Beat on high for 2 minutes.
- Grease 9 x 13 pan. Spread blueberries along the bottom the pan. Sprinkle with 1 to 3 teaspoons of sugar. Pour the cake mix on top of the blueberries.
- Bake in 9 x 13 pan for 45 minutes. Toothpick test will work fine to see if it's finished. We do not put a frosting on this cake.
- (If you do not want a blueberry cake and just want a yummy yellow cake, omit the blueberries and 3 tsp sugar. Bake for 40 - 45 minutes.)

Cake for breakfast - that's me! Thanks for the wonderful post. Blueberries are almost ripe so I will bookmark and save this for when they are. Great post and high 5!
