How to make it

  • Mix together flour, baking powder, and salt. Cut in butter, milk, jam or dried fruit, and 1 teaspoon almond extract.
  • Lightly knead dough on floured surface and pat into 1/2-inch thick rounds.
  • Combine cinnamon and sugar and sprinkle scones with mixture. Bake at 450 degrees for 7 to 10 minutes (do not over-bake).
  • Combine frosting ingredients and frost scones while they are warm.
