Ingredients
  • 4 large Green Bell peppers
  • 1/2 cup fresh red hot peppers{About 12}
  • 7 cups sugar
  • 1 1/2cups white vinegar
  • 1 tbs. green food color{for eaach1/2 pint}
  • 2 bottles liquid pectin

Directions
  1. In large pot place peppers that have been ground fine{use Juice and pulp}
  2. Add sugar vinegar,bring to full boil reduce heat simmer 10 minutes
  3. Add pectin stir well bring mixture to boil over high heat{Boil 1 minute pour mixture into hot sterilized Jars{Half Pints leave 1/4 inch at top
  4. Add 1 Tbs food color to each jar.Seal process in hot water bath 15 minutes.
  5. remove jars cool makes 8 pints
  6. Recipe from mothers old recipe box

For Christmas last year, my neighbor gave me commercial gourmet Red Hot Pepper Jelly. I didn't think I would like it, but now I love it. Thanks for the post, making this homemade is definitely cheaper than buying it in at the gourmet grocer. ^5
