    **December 2016 Cookie Swap**

I just think these are so cute! (When someone else makes them. lol!) Most of mine end up looking like scarecrows. This is only the second time I’ve made these. They’re not something hubby and I would eat, but he had a work party today with co-workers bringing in their kids to see Santa. The sugar cookie is good, but we both hate royal frosting and marshmallows. Bottom line, these are something the kids will enjoy. I tried using buttercream frosting one time, but it doesn’t have the same look. You really need royal frosting to create the puddle effect.

The recipe says you can use the one suggested or even packaged dough. I figured if store bought was o.k., then I could use the recipe of choice. I couldn’t find the exact one, but this is very close Loretta Painters Soft Sugar Cookies. Mine calls for just 1 egg and only ½ c. sour cream. It’s a soft cookie that reminds me of a lofthouse cookie. Need a good sweet cookie to offset the royal frosting!

Those look so cute!! I think you did a great job, and the kids will love these I'm sure!! :)
I'm the same, not a fan of marshmallows or royal icing. But it does the job and will put a smile on the children's faces! :)

I don't think they look like scarecrows at all. They look just like what they're supposed to be, melting snowmen. And the kids aren't going to critique them, they're just going to shovel them in!

Okay DIZ3, that's it! I'm going to have to ask for you to adopt me. You have been cranking out some awesome stuff this month! Those melting snowman cookies are AH-DORABLE! What are you talking about scarecrows? Buttons, melting head....those are most definitely snowmen. They totally bring a smile to a face and certainly mine. Great job!!!

I LOVE these!! I saw someone post pictures of these on Facebook but didn't know there was a recipe here. I like that you made your own cookies, but it is nice that you can buy store bought in a pinch :) Fantastic picture!!

Awe......Blushing here! Thank you, everyone! Hubby said the kids must have really liked them because they were all gone and he didn't notice any in the trash. lol!
chuckieb, adoption approved! I'll cook and bake for anyone anytime! I'm done with baking for the rest of the year. A few "holiday beverages" still on my list, but that's about it.
