Of course these were delicious! I used muenster cheese and I cut 8 kinda smallish sandwiches out of this. Served the sauce on the side (yummy by the way). I was curious what the egg wash would do to this and it really gave it a crispy, crunchy crust! Perfect for the football game (yay Texans kicked butt ;)

    THANK YOU!

And...thanks to your Texans, too... other than the Steelers win last night, the Texans demolishing the Ravens was the best outcome all day, by far! hehehe

Wow, that looks so good! That picture makes me want to grab one. :)
Sounds like the egg wash did the same thing for this as it did with the Monte Croissants. Its definitely a nice touch.

Yeah I want to make those croissants too, I actually have some in the freezer I need to use up!

Your welcome Keni!! That was the first time the Texans have EVER beat the Ravens, in 10 years! ;0)

Yeah, these don't get as saturated with the egg mixture as a traditional Monte Cristo, but that wasn't the goal... it's mostly about a great bread, some tasty meats, and that nice lil crunch and flavor to the outside. And, yup, I wanted something I could slice up into hand held servings, easily.... similar enough to the croissants, Frankie, so thanks for the comment.

And, Luv, yes, it was a great outcome, trust me! hehehe
