Anniez Spicy Aji Verde Peruvian Green Chili Sauce

    I was curious to see how this one would turn out, the lettuce just seemed strange....BUT I could not get enough of it! I grilled up some pork, mushroom and veggie kabobs and served it in pita bread with this sauce. It's perfect, and such a beautiful color too!

    It really does taste similar to the green sauce they serve at a local Mexican food place, so I can see using it as a dip!
    I used a little less romaine probably about 4-5 cups, so I only needed 1/2 cup mayo.

    My brother is in Peru now. Archaeologist and teaching newbies. We've gone to Peruvian restaurants with him before and have had this sauce. Never had any idea it was made with lettuce. I remember it being quite good so I had to save the recipe. Thanks for sharing this ML2C.
