Applesauce Spice Cake

Recipe by Dandelion: Applesauce Spice Cake/saved
A sweet and satisfying cake without frosting. I only had one bite since I'm on a restricted sugar diet. The rest goes to mother whom likes no frosting cakes.
Made my own applesauce. Batter is not too thick, just right for pouring and scraping out of the mixing bowl. Only ding this recipe gets is the bake time. At 30 minutes it still jiggled like cheesecake. Added another 15 minutes which worked out just fine. Used fresh grated nutmeg too. I won't ever buy pre-grated nutmeg ever again unless under an extreme emergency. The nutmeg is so much more potent and aromatic when hand grated just prior to use.
I can overlook the bake time problem because the flavor is all there! Made it in a 9x13 casserole dish.
    No nuts this time.
