Very tasty! My beans took 11 hours to cook though. That may be my cooker. I cook beans 10 to 12 hours on low, 8 to 10 on high so I planned for that. Added my photo!

Sorry the time was off... always a problem, isn't it, not knowing how new or what brand or whatever someone else is cooking with... but, I appreciate you trying them and I'm thrilled your dad enjoyed them!

I love the idea of making them in the crockpot! I'll have to try this one! I may cook the bacon before adding it to the crockpot, just to cut down on the fat. Thats what I did with the other recipe and it worked fine. Great post Keni!

Yeah, my dad. Here is how I know he liked the beans:
Me: "Dad, do you want me to leave the leftovers?"
Dad: "Well, if you want to, that would be OK. I'd eat them. But - you know - if you want to take them.... but - if you'd like to leave them...."
Yep - pure success! I know my dad well, too. :)

I am very glad you mentioned the time, yes!! Thank you for that. I don't want anyone to try them, stop them at the 8 hour mark and have horrible beans... ugh! :)
