Basil Salad With Mozzarella On Ciabatta Bread

It's basil season, woo hoo! I absolutely loved this. For the olives, I didn't use either of the recommended green or black, but kalamata! Also, didn't crush up a cayenne pepper, but used the more on hand, powdered stuff :) My ciabatta was the pretzel version I found at Sam's. I really thought I was going to regret not toasting the whole thing, to melt the cheese, but I enjoyed it the way it was, with just the warm toasted bread with the cold toppings, it was delicious! Drizzled with a basil infused olive oil. It's definitely a keeper :)

Judging from both your's and the author's pics I'm going to say you used Buffalo Mozzerella?
    I'm SO trying this.

    Thanks everyone :)
Janet, yes it was Buffalo Mozz, it's the only kind I use, every time it goes on sale I buy it :)
FA, I got a gift pack of infused olive oils for Christmas and love them so much! Too expensive for me to buy to keep on hand though, so I am starting to make my own. Have a garlic infused one in my fridge right now that I whipped up yesterday!

I've never heard of buffalo Mozzarella. What is it and how is it different from the "normal" stuff?

Beautiful photo Michelle. That salad looks so very good. BM is whiter, more moist and has a bit of a tang. I buy fresh balls of BM every now and then, it's expensive but I love it.

Thank you ladies :) Yes BM is definitely more expensive, but it's such a great treat :) I never buy it unless it's a good deal and that is still only every couple months or so.

Uh, guys, you want might want to use a different abbreviation for buffalo Mozzarella. Just sayin' ;) But thanks for explaining the difference!

Yep, you knew it had to be me, especially after Don abbreviated my name and called me BM once in a post - yikes! I read your and Angel's posts to my husband (after explaining what the thread is about) and he laughed so hard he cried!

Lol, I don't remember that post from Don, but I can see how it would bother you :P I just wanted to play off of Bren's answer and go with it :) I knew somebody would crack!
