    Beer Soaked Chops
I found this recipe when I did a recipe search using the ingredients "pork chops" and "brown sugar" because that's what I was in the mood for. Up popped this recipe (among many others) of Pat's and it sounded perfect! I loved this! I always have these ingredients around and I am sure I will make this again. I think it would be great with chicken. My chops were a bit dry but I got sidetracked and they ended up in the oven for 1 hour and 15 minutes. I think this sauce would be nice thickened up a bit with some cornstarch. This is a lot of liquid! I didn't use a 9 x 13 but I cut my liquid in half and it nearly came to the top before it cooked down.

This was really good! I used pork chops & chicken breasts (yes, baked in separate pans:) and 1/2 the recipe for 2 chops & 2 breasts...plenty of sauce!! Served with brown rice...The next time I would use a little less brown sugar, it was just a slight tad too sweet for me, I might have packed it too well!!! No pics, sorry!!! We were hungry!!!

I'm glad you gave this a try, Marie, especially using chicken and found its good with that, too. It sure did have a lot of liquid. I'd be curious if someone could fit it all and eight pork chops in a 9 x 13. Yes, it is kinda sweet so I could see where someone may want to cut the sugar a bit.

I picked up chops for this last night and wikk be trying this week. Im also glad to know that it works for chicken, as that is the majority meat I eat. Im assuming "light" means light in color, not like Bud Light type light......

I didn't think about that, MrP, but I used a light Bud Light type. :)

    @ Mr. P, I used Coors Light...

@ Frankieanne, I sure wouldn't be able to fit 8 chops in a 9x13, I guess it depends on the size of the chops:)

Mr P..actually, I hardly drink anymore...but yes, to answer your question, Coors light is my beer of choice ...we do have Sierra Nevada in Chico, and another local brewery called Feather River Brewing Co...their beer is a little too potent for me, my husband likes Feather River beer..much better that Sierra Nevada....What is your favorite beer?

The only light beer we drink is Miller. We mostly drink dark beer (not guiness). I'm not seeing 8 pork chops of any size you could find at the store fitting. Six tops IMI....

Yeah, I don't think eight chops plus all that liquid would fit in a 9 x 13, ml2c.

NP, Im not a fan of Sierra Nevada. I used to be when I started drinking micro-brews. Now for quantity, I like Bud Light. For quality, my favorites are reds/ambers. Mendocino's Red Tail Ale is one of my favorites. BJ's Jeremiah Red was another, but not so much anymore. I never heard of Feather River. Is it an IPA like Sierra Nevada?

OK Mr P, I had to google IPA..I still don't know what it means..something pale ale maybe? Anyway here's a link for Feather River Brewing, it's here in Magalia where we live... http://www.featherriverbrewing.com/index.html He's starting like Sierra Nevada did, out of his garage, so to speak...which is kind of cool!
