Bisquick Banana Bread

    Bisquick Banana Bread
This is a good banana bread. I usually make banana bread about 2 times a month (quick snack or breakfast on the run) and have made this one several times. I usually add almonds. My daughter loved it, too.

What a beautiful loaf! Those are great pictures - WOW! I always use pecans or walnuts in banana bread - never thought of using almonds (don't know why, I love almonds!). I'm glad I saw your comment - I'm going to try almonds when I try this recipe! :)

Wow, I'm happy you have made this so many times. Thanks so much. I'd be happy, too, if you would like to add your pictures to the recipe. :)

Thanks. I love almonds and try them in many things. PB&J's, yogurt, ice cream, ramen noodles. Especially almond crusted salmon or halibut

Good bread. Used a home made bisquick. Used pistachios.

I made this today, it's raining like crazy and that's when I like to do some baking:) Loved the moistness of this banana bread, I have made some which seemed dry...also the addition of brown sugar instead of granulated really gave it much more flavor as well! I baked for 50 minutes. Very nice banana bread! Added my pic to the recipe page:) Thanks Frankieanne for sharing:-)

Your picture looks SO GOOD!!! I wonder how old my bisquick is? I love to make banana bread for quick breakfasts for the kiddos. Looks yummy!

Oh it is good Michelle! I keep my bisquick in the fridge..I forgot to mention I sifted the bisquick..it was kindof clumpy from being refrigerated:) Your bisquick should still be good don't ya think?

OOOhhh, I like the idea of refrigerating Bisquick Marie! I'm totally stealing that idea, bet it keeps it fresh forever lol! One time I made cheddar biscuits and they had a strange metallic type taste and I checked the date on the Bisquick and it was pretty outdated, and I smelled the contents and they smelled like the biscuits tasted!

Well never mind anyway lol, I don't have ANY Bisquick. I will probably just make my own, super cheap that way!

I keep everything in the fridge! Flour, cereal, oatmeal..it does keep it fresh longer..you could even freeze it if you have the room:)
Oh yum! Metallic cheddar biscuits! LOL !!

Several good mock bisquick recipes here at GR. They shouldn't have to be refrigerated if you only use the dry ingredient portion of the recipe. But most importantly it needs to be in a sealed container to keep the baking soda and/or powder from collecting humidity (which makes it less active) and odors from the fridge, if you keep it in there anyway.
I make mine with the shortening already mixed in and keep it in the pantry. Never had a batch go bad or have off flavors, even if it takes a while to use up the batch. I wouldn't try it with butter already mixed in without refrigeration. Freezing the fat content of the recipe will help make the biscuits more flaky.
