Bulgogi Chicken Lettuce Wraps

I admit, I made a few changes with what I had on hand, but regardless this still turned out delicious! I do plan on fully remaking the recipe with all of the correct ingredients in the future. I used a Bosc pear instead of and Asian pear, because that's what I had, and chicken breast, that I cubed before marinating 3 hours. I then dumped the marinade and chicken into a pan when ready to cook and just tossed around and cooked for a few minutes to get more of the marinade then put all the chicken pieces on a baking sheet and threw under the broiler for a few more minutes. Last I didn't have the gochujang either so I used Sriracha :) I know my usual store carries all these items, so next time I plan on making this, I will have all of the right ingredients. Thanks Luisa :) :)

OMG! This looks so good! We love bulgogi and recipes that give things a unique flare like the Asian pears. I'm glad you tried it and liked it. I bookmarked this awhile ago and I'm going to bump it up to my ASAP list. Thanks for sharing. Nice photo, by the way!

Oh my gosh, Mommyluvs2cook, that looks fabulous! Did you use the hot sauce? That's something I'd have to omit for me.

DIZ, I think you would love this!

Bakerme, I used Sriracha instead of the Asian hot sauce, just cause I didn't want to make a trip to the store. I am pretty sure my store carries it though and I plan on keeping an eye out for it next time I go. I bet a bit of sweet chili sauce would be a good sub for the hot sauce? Worth a shot!

Well, you may have made some changes but yours look exactly like Luisa's! :-) It looks very delicious. I should use lettuce as a wrap more often. I've done it before and loved it. Don't know why I don't use them more.

BEAUTIFUL Picture! I am a heat pansy so I would probably make my own sauce for topping. My favorite right now is
1T Chinese hot mustard, 1T Soy sauce, 2T Mirin, and 1 T either Sriracha or 1t Sambal, whisked together. I use this as a dipping sauce for dumplings or over plain rice etc. I am so making this recipe!! Thank you so much for your review and Thank you Luisa for posting this BEAUTIFUL recipe!!

Thanks Shona :) Semi that sauce sounds so good! I actually have those ingredients on hand always, so next time I need a dipping sauce, I'll try that one!

These are sooo good! Made 2/5/2016. I originally made these for dinner, but DH and I gobbled them up so fast that they ended up being an appetizer. They were flavorful, but didn’t have the full body of flavor that I’d hoped. I broiled them and I’m sure grilling would have added more flavor. However, my preferred cooking method for dishes like this is just as mommyluvs2cook did above. The sauce is everything and stir frying in a pan is the best way to capture every single ounce.

Ha! I finally found black sesames. Mommyluvs2cook, you will have to let me know what you think of gochujang. I can't remember having it, but seems to me it tastes like Asian chili sauce which is very hot. I was also going to tell you that I used an Asian pear and found no difference between a Bosc other than the high price.

Congrats on finding the black sesame seeds!! Lol, they really don't taste much different do they? But worth buying cause' they are so pretty :) I actually looked for the Asian pear yesterday at the store just to see the price difference but there wasn't any. Wonder if it's out of season here? Good to know though it taste the same as the less expensive though :)
