Flash! Bubble and Squeak

I used up the leftover potatoes, carrots and onions from my roast for this and it was yummy! I mashed it all up together and I really wanted to make them into patties but it just wasn't working for me, maybe because of how they were cooked in the first place? Not sure, but it did get a nice browning and I served a fried egg on top!

It looks really good Mml2C, Great pic! I could dig into that right now actually! As I mentioned in post there really isn't a recipe per say for this, as there are many variations of it. More than likely if you had mashed potatoes leftover from the roast, they probably would have stuck together for you. Also, depending on the starch factor of the type of potato being used might alter the outcome for patties. Higher starch potatoes like Russet or Yukon Gold would most likely stick. Lower starch potatoes like new Red and White skinned might not do it as well. I have run into problems making a few things, like Perogies with different kinds of potatoes. I have found out the the best is with Russets for them. So much for my tidbits of information! With this post, I doubt it matters much because it tastes good either way! I am very pleased you tried it and liked it though. Thanks for the great review:-)

Your right it taste the same either way so I didn't cry to much about the patties not working ;) And I did use red potatoes so that probably didn't help. I just can't wait to have leftover brussels sprouts and potatoes to try it that way.... I'm curious!

Another dish I have never had. That picture looks delicious, ml2c. There are some really wonderful pictures on that recipe. Looks very tempting!
Are you still using your phone camera, ml2c? :)

Thanks guys! Frankie, yup still using the camera phone, but it's actually not so bad. Mr. Ml2c can't seem to decide on a camera. He is one to research EVERYTHING about something before he buys it. Can be annoying but good at the same time ;)
