This is super delicious! I followed the recipe exactly. While I was mixing the dough I realized there is no sugar in it, so I decided I would top them with a glaze or icing.
Since I love lemon with gingerbread, I made a maple-lemon icing and topped with a few sprinkles of crushed candy cane.
Absolutely wonderful! I could eat a mountain of these! All the flavours are perfect, nothing is overpowering, it's just perfect!
I think I'll make another batch on Christmas Eve so we can have these for breakfast. They would make a great dessert too if you use an icing.:)
Oh, I forgot to add earlier, I made a total of 8 scones (8 smaller scones, not the huge coffee shop size ;)

Having one for breakfast. I stored the 4 leftovers in a container with a slightly damp paper towel (off to the side, so not touching the scones) and they are as fresh as when I first baked them. I have to say with the icing they are better then any coffee shop gingerbread scone I have had! :) And if you're not a molasses fan, you'll probably like these as the *Light molasses is sweeter and not as dark as regular fancy molasses.
