    Irish Beef Stew With Guinness

I made this as part of our St. Patrick's Day Celebration. Boy was it ever good. Now I was going out for most of the afternoon so had it in the oven by 1:30 pm. Did not pull out until 7 pm. The meat was tender and full of great flavour. will be making again.

That is a good one! Did you use 1-1/4 cup of beef stock? I think that is what he meant and, unfortunately, he is no longer with us so I can ask.

I have never used Guinness in beef stew, but the rest of this recipe is similar enough to mine that just reading it I can taste it! I add more vegetables, but that's just personal preference.

No I only used 1/4 cup of beef broth. The meat and veggies released enough liquid so it was fine. Very thick for sure if you want a thinner stew then maybe a 1 1/4 cups would work better.

Another review: Irish Beef Stew With Guinness

This is one I'd love to try. Wonder if I can just buy one bottle of Guiness lol?

At our local grocery store they sell single bottles but only if certain things. I'll have to look and see if they do Guiness next time I'm there!
