Juicy Marinated Skirt Steak

  • NadineM 8 years ago
We had a 3 lb. boneless inside blade roast last night. I used Juicy Marinated Skirt Steak and allowed the meat to marinate for about 5 hours. Great flavour and meat was tender. Will be making again.

This sounds like something my husband would just love! I have a problem finding skirt steaks for some reason, good to know you used a roast with great success! Thanks for the review Nadine:)

That looks like a great marinade. I don't see skirt steak around here though. Looks like that marinade would work for chicken though.

I'm not sure what skirt steak is. I tried looking it up online and the links I found say it's similar to flank steak, whatever that is. Can't say as I've ever had or seen either.

    This looks really good, bookmarked.
Bakeme, I can't find skirt steak either but I can get flank which I think is similar. It's a very tough cut of beef that has to be marinated. It used to be very cheap because it was so tough but since cooks have discovered how to cook it , it now very expensive. I seldom buy flank and will sub blade steak which is also tough but cheaper.

Thanks, Angel (that's what your name looks like to me ;)), I must be living a very sheltered life because I've never heard of blade steak either! My husband is a big beef lover, but my experience with the various cuts is pretty much limited to a lot of ground beef and chuck roasts.

Lol Bakeme, it's Bren. Not necessarily, I grew up on a farm and the only things that we bought were tea, sugar and salt so we learned the different cuts of meat. Talk to the butcher when you next shop, they are usually happy to explain the different cuts if it isn't too busy.

This looks great Nadine! We have flank and skirt steak available but I have never seen blade steak roast in the store. Then when we got a steer butchered, there were a couple of blade roast in the mix!
