Mamma's Lasagna

    Recipe by Mrcooksalot: Mammas Lasagna/saved
Lots of good flavor. Not knocking it but there was only 2 courses of lasagna noodles. Traditionally there are 3 or more. But that made room for lots of sauce. So it didn't stand quite as turgid as a traditional lasagna.
Sauce is quite thick at the onset. Covering the pan is an important step to keep the stove clean and to keep too much water from escaping. Don't forget to stir every 5 to 10 minutes to keep from singing the sauce.
Casserole pan was quite full. I slipped a baking sheet under it to catch any over exuberance from the dish.
It all came out to spec.
Only knock is the headliner picture is not of this recipe. It's some kind of rolled up lasagna noodle recipe.
    Added my pic.

Finally used up the last of my no-boil lasagna noodles. They must have been in the pantry for almost 2 decades. A few years older than my baking beer stash. Now I have some newer noodles. Will try my hand at a couple more lasagna dishes in the more near future. Was looking for a soup recipe in which to break up the noodles when I stumbled upon this recipe.

I did drain off the fat from the sauteed meat, as I used an 80/20 blend.

Gosh I love lasagna! That looks cheesy and saucy....yum! I've probably had half a box of lasagna noodles in my pantry for longer than that! I made some right before I had caiden to freeze and heat up and he's 2 1/2! Probably should use them lol!

This will stick to your ribs. Actually you know how they say with Chinese food you'll be hungry again in an hour? I'm that way with heavy Italian food like this. It fills me up so quickly that I don't eat much then am hungry again in an hour or so. Glad the leftovers is "da bomb" for when I'm ready for seconds.

There were a time I could almost polish the entire casserole off in one sitting, at the end my stomach making puppy dog sounds. Now this comfort food is only one square at a time.

Good job points! I have been cutting down on my serving sizes too lately. After 2 kids I needed the fat rolls in my belly to shrink lol!
